2018 Lifeguard of the Year (Scholarship)
CoCo Key Water Resort of Kansas City is pleased to announce that Anthony S. is the Life Guard of the Year for 2018. As Lifeguard of the Year, Anthony has earned himself a $500.00 scholarship to a college of his choosing.
Anthony came to work at CoCo Key in April of 2017. He started as an arcade attendance but quickly found his passion for life guarding. It wasn’t long before Anthony was promoted to Lead Lifeguard. In August, Anthony was awarded Lifeguard of the Month and shortly after that he was promoted, once again, to Jr Supervisor.
Anthony will be a Senior at Raytown High School. He has participated in Chess Club & Scholar Bowl, but his passion is music: Marching Band, Jazz Band & Pep Band. Anthony has been a member of Boy Scouts since first grade. He is currently a member of Troop 550 in Raytown, where he is working to complete his Eagle Project. During his years in Scouts, he attended National Youth Leadership Training, as both a participant and a staff member.
The management team at the Adams Mark Hotel/CoCo Key Water Resort believes that young leaders need to be given a place to rise-up. As such, they are very proud of the youth leadership program they put in place in 2018. In this program, young leaders are given a chance to practice and grow in their leadership while under the mentorship of managers who recognize talent in young people and are excited about the opportunity to help them grow. WRDC is thrilled to announce that they’ve decided to increase the 2020 Lifeguard of the Year scholarship to $1200.00. Next time you visit CoCo Key, take a look around at all the young leaders. I think you’ll be inspired!
