We had a wonderful time interacting and building relationships with the community as well as learning more about why the celebration of Juneteenth is important in our American history. 6/1/19 – First Time Driver’s Clinic

CoCo Key partnered with the Jackson Country Sheriff’s office in their effort to bring awareness to the dangers of “driving while distracted”.  The texting and driving statics are staggering;

  • The National Safety Council reports that cell phone use while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes each year.
  • Texting while driving is 6x more likely to cause an accident than driving drunk.
  • Answering a text takes away your attention for about five seconds. Traveling at 55 mph, that’s enough time to travel the length of a football field.

Here’s some photos from the event.

 The Adams Mark Hotel and CoCo Key Water Resort will be hosting the next Jackson County Sheriffs Office First Time Drivers Safety program in September.  The event will be held at the Adams Mark Hotel!!  Check back for details!!
